北京航空航天大学杭州创新研究院是一所由北京航空航天大学与浙江省、杭州市及滨江区三级政府共建的高能级新型研发机构。研究院以“建设信息领域世界一流技术创新平台和创新人才培养平台”为使命，积极构建从应用基础研究到技术产业化“纵向贯通”的创新和研发体系以及创新、人才、资金、产业四链“横向融通”的创新生态，力争成为国家战略科技力量的重要组成部分以及区域高质量发展的新引擎。

研究院依托北航“空天信融合特色”的国家级创新平台，围绕“互联网+”、生命健康、 新材料三大领域，设立了以院士作为首席科学家领衔的七大研究中心，由国家级人才担任中心主任，七大中心现已建成十六个前沿创新平台。

Hangzhou Innovation Institute of Beihang University is a high-level new research and development institution jointly established by Beihang University, Zhejiang Provincial Government, Hangzhou city and Hangzhou High-tech Zone (Binjiang). It aspires to build a world-class technological innovation platform and a talent cultivation platform in the field of information technology. The institute actively constructs a vertically integrated innovation, research and development system that spans from applied basic research to technological industrialization, as well as a horizontally interconnected innovation ecosystem that integrates innovation, talent, capital, and industry chains. The institute strives to become an important part of the national strategic scientific and technological force, and a new engine for regional high-quality development.

Based on the space-air-information integrated national innovation platform of Beihang University, the institute focuses on key areas such as "Internet+," life and health, new materials, etc. Seven research centers are established, each led by academicians as chief scientists, and directed by national-level talents. These seven research centers have built sixteen frontier innovation platforms.
